THE
ART OF RECYCLING
Fun and inexpensive, recycled crafts offer a way to reuse
materials in a
creative way,. In these summer workshops, old and new
materials are used in interesting combinations to create imaginative
playthings and gifts.

Rock Art
Rock painting is Native American tradition that transforms
a natural object into a work of art. Rocks have character
- shapes that remind you of animals, people, even buildings. We’ll have
an assortment of rocks with suggested designs, or you can bring your own.

Crazy Quilt Bowls and Boxes
Crazy Quilts came about as a way to recycle worn out
clothes and fabric scraps. In this workshop we’ll apply
odds and ends of fabric and ribbon in random patterns to
bowls and boxes to create fun and useful objets d’art
($12)

Kokeshi Dolls
Kokeshi dolls are simple Japanese dolls with large round
heads, traditionally made of wood. Our version uses recycled
bottles and paper balls, along with beautiful patterned papers
to replicate kimonos. ($12)
