The
Artbeat Birthday Party
Imaginative
and fun,
an Artbeat party brings an hour of creativity
to your group. Children learn art skills, create an entire
art project from start to finish, and take home a fun and
inspiring
handmade gift.
Have a party in our Studio for any number of children
(limit 12 in
Arlington). Children should be 5 years and older. We provide
the art, you bring the refreshments, and the Studio is
yours for an hour and a half.
Choose Saturdays at 10:30 AM or 1:00 PM,
Sundays at 1:00 or 3:30 (other times possible by special
arrangement).
For older children, Friday evenings are also
available – take the kids for pizza first,
then come for an art project, finish up with cake in our
studio, and you’ve
had a great party with a minimum of fuss.

The
Sand Art Treasure Box
Dig
in to this totally cool project! Design a scene on
a box using our special adhesive, then paint it with
rainbow colors of sand. Themes can range from Castles
& Dragons to Big Dig, from Dinosaurs to Horse
Farm and Rainbow Sky.
|
 |
 |
Pirate Treasure Box
Ahoy, Matey! If you dig pirates, you'll
have a great time decorating this treasure box and
making it look old. First you'll cover a wooden box
with brown paint, then use silver, gold, and rhinestones
to embellish the skull and crossbones on top. Next,
learn how to dry brush the box so that it looks like
you dug it out of the ground. Finally, choose ten shiny
glass gems to place inside to begin your treasure collection. |
 |
Crown and Wand
Boys and girls transform into little
princes and princesses when they decorate their own
crowns by drawing colorful designs and adding sparkling
jewels. A magic wand embellished with tissue paper
cutouts, jewels, and ribbon completes the transformation.
|
 |
Tissue
Paper Flower Bouquet
Form a bouquet of beautiful sunflowers, poppies, roses,
and carnations with beads, wire, and multiple layers
of colored tissue. Then decorate a mini mache flower
pot with sparkle decoupage. The happy results will
create cheer in any room in your house!
|
 |
Shimmering
Glitter Candle
Roll candles from sheets of real honeycomb beeswax and decorate them in a rainbow
of colors using your own wax designs. A final dusting of superfine glitter makes
a shimmering candle for your family dinner table.

Art
Bowling
Artbeat's spin on a bowling party! Decorate your own set of wooden pins, ball
and a colorful lane using special paint markers, dotters, and sand.
|
 |
Bears, Bunnies and People
Dolls
Both boys and girls love these 7” stuffed toys (teddy bears or people)
that will last through years of imaginative play. Create the animal or character
of your choice, first by drawing on faces, toes, and other features, and then
by making costumes for them from felt and cloth pieces, buttons and ribbon. |
 |
Choices for Ages 8 and up: |
Decopatch Animals
Choose your favorite animal from a
menagerie of wildlife: elephants, giraffes, zebras,
turtles, dolphins, and more. Then find just the right
bits of patterned papers to turn them into magical
objets d’art. This project, which always has
beautiful results, is best for those who love little
details and don’t mind sticky fingers.
|
 |
Appliqué Candles
This candle becomes a world of butterflies,
a sky of stars, or anything you can imagine. You’ll
cut thin pieces of beeswax into shapes using special
punches and scissors, then apply them to a pillar
or ball-shaped candle.
Learn how to turn geometric shapes into animals and
layered designs, and try the technique that creates
sky, clouds, and ocean – all
in wax!
|
 |
Best Friends Frame
come your own celeb! Create a frame
that shows your name in ‘lights’
(clear, magnifying marbles) surrounding your favorite
photo. This plain
frame starts out white, and you apply special inks
with pens and markers for
your own unique design. Add your personalized stones
for a message loud and
clear – you are the star of your own life!
|
 |
Alphabet Accents
These sturdy initials, 5” high,
will tell a story – a sunny picture you paint
with acrylics, or a patchwork of patterned papers
you brush on with a glue/glaze. The result: an illustrated
monogram to hang on a wall or sit on a shelf.
|
 |
Opti Art Mosaic Box
This mosaic treasure box is embellished
three different ways. First, you
create an original work of art (or choose from a
selection of printed
designs) with colored pencil, then top it with tiny
clear beads. Paint the
entire box in a colorful palette, then glue on a
layer of bright mosaic
tiles. This one’s a real keeper!
|
 |
Painted Wall Canvas
Are you a modern-day Van Gogh or Michaelangelo?
Create a painting on a
miniature (6” x 6”) canvas that you can
hang on your wall or give as a gift.
Choose from an assortment of pre-printed designs,
or create your own. Learn
about the color wheel and mix your own hues on an
artist’s palette for an
unforgettable artist’s date for you and your
friends.
|
 |
Stained Glass Suncatcher
Capture the sun’s rays through
bits of real stained glass. Working with your
own design or one of ours, you’ll choose a
round or square surface and a
selection of transparent glass tiles in all the colors
of the rainbow.
Finished with a bead-and-wire hanger, the sun catcher
is ready to hang in
your window.
|
 |
Sun Mirror
This hanging ornament is beautiful
on both sides. On the front, it is
covered with your choices of patterned papers, that
you apply with a
glue/glaze. On the back is a 3” mirror so you
can look at your own beautiful
face! What a way to start the day!

Sushi Candles
Let’s have a sushi party! We’ll
set out a platter of ingredients: beeswax in
all the colors you need to create 4 mini candles
that look a lot like sushi.
Roll centers of avocado, cucumber, and salmon, then
surround them with
layers of rice. Finish with a wrap of nori and place
on a wooden platter
with grass and a dash of wasabi and ginger. Take
home to enjoy on the
family dinner table.
